Privacy policy

Who we are

justwanted.io is run by IN2PROGRESS LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16143235). We are the data controller for the personal information described here. You can reach us at hello@in2progress.uk.

What we collect

• Account details — your name, email address, mobile number and a password (stored only as a one-way hash).
• What you post — wants, offers, photos, prices and the area you give for a want. We store the coordinates of the postcode or town you enter, but we only ever show other people a rounded-off area such as “Leeds (LS6)”, never a full postcode.
• Technical data — IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, kept in ordinary server logs for up to 30 days to keep the site secure and working.

How we use it

• To run the service: show your wants to other users, deliver offers to you and let you respond to them.
• To send you service emails — account activation, password resets, and notifications when someone offers on your want or responds to your offer. These are part of the service rather than marketing; we do not send newsletters or promotional email.
• To keep the site safe: we use Cloudflare Turnstile on the registration form to tell people from automated bots, and we may remove content or accounts that break our terms.

Our legal basis is performance of our contract with you (providing the service you signed up for) and our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and free of abuse.

Who sees your information

Your name and what you post are visible to other users. Your email address and mobile number are never shown publicly; once an offer is accepted it is up to you and the other person to share contact details. We use a small number of providers to run the service, all of whom process data on our behalf: Amazon Web Services (hosting, Cape Town region), Microsoft 365 (email delivery), Cloudflare (bot protection on sign-up) and postcodes.io (converting a postcode or town to a location). We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

Your account and posts are kept while your account is active. Delete a want and its photos and offers go with it. If you ask us to close your account we remove your personal details within 30 days, apart from anything we are required to keep for legal reasons.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it. Email hello@in2progress.uk and we will respond within a month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

We use one strictly necessary cookie (token) to keep you signed in. It lasts for the browser session, or 30 days if you tick “Remember me”. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile may set its own cookie on the registration page solely to complete the human check.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters we will note the new date at the top of this page.
